Who are we? Well here you can find out about the people that drive DSA.

DSA trainers are experienced in a variety of driving environments that include motorsport, law enforcement, mining and even stunt driving.

Although highly experienced, DSA trainers do not claim to be experts and are always improving their skills and knowledge to provide you with the best training possible.

The DSA team are friendly, professional and are passionate about driving and road safety.

Mark Butcher - CEO / Director

As the director of DSA, Mark is responsible for the running of the business as well as overseeing all training packages. Responsibiliteis also include maintaining the companies systems and procedures to comply with requirements outlined by the AQTF for Registered Training Organisations.

Mark works directly with companies to design training packages that are interesting, relevant and that comply with any other customer requirements.

Marks background includes 12 years as a driver trainer working in Australia and Overseas. Mark has a long history in motorsport that includes over 100 events as a driver at all levels from club to World Championship.

Gavin Warren - Senior Instructor (VIC)

Gavin joins the DSA team with a background in driving and training that includes time spent working in law enforcement and the Australian Army. During this time he has worked in a variety of roles that provided some unique challenges. It is this experience that allows Gavin to deliver quality training to all DSA clients. Gavin has provided training for DSA in a variety of locations including the Northern Territory and South Australia - but usually he is based at either Sandown or Calder Park in Victoria.

John Summerville - Senior Instructor (Kalgoorlie Operations)

John has been involved in driver training for many years. His experience also includes time as a Mine Production Supervisor. John has valuable experience in safety, training and management of light and heavy vehicles associated with mining. John has also been responsible for delivering defensive driving courses to drivers in 62 seater busses and semi-trailers. With several awards for Road Safety, John is a valuable member of our team providing local support in the Goldfields area (W.A.)

Ross McGill - Senior Instructor (WA)

Ian "Ross" McGill is a very experienced off road operator. With over 20 years service as a park ranger for CALM, Ross has gained valuable skills in a variety of areas including Occupational Health and Safety, Risk management, safety and survival skills. With years spent driving in some of the remotest areas in Western Australia, Ross enjoys sharing his experiences while delivering training for DSA.

John Cantrell - Senior Instructor (NSW)

John Cantrell has a passion for off road driving and over the years has operated training courses for drivers looking at getting the most from their vehicle safely. Combined with qualifications for training and assessment, John is a key member of the DSA operation and will be operating both 4WD and Defensive courses in NSW.

Gary Morgan- Instructor (QLD/New Zealand)

Gary is an experienced motorsport competitor and can often be found driving his Subaru at Targa style events in Australia and New Zealand. With a wealth of motorsport experience and many years operating a successful business globally, Gary manages training for DSA in Queensland.

Harry Graeve - Senior Instructor (VIC)

Harry is an experienced driver trainer who has worked for a few companies in the past - gaining valuable skills and knowledge along the way. Now working with DSA, Harry is well known for his friendly and fun approach to driver training and is popular with all DSA customers.

Brad Bird - Senior Instructor

Brad brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the DSA operation. In the past 18 years Brad has worked in law enforcement and has been responsible for providing training in policing, investigations, security and risk management. Other experience includes providing driver education in the Oil and Gas industry overseas and working with a variety of customers in preparing road safety training packages and procedures.

Reeve Shelhot - Senior Instructor (WA)

Reeve is an experienced driver trainer having worked in the Middle East and Asia. In addition, Reeve has experience in law enforcement, traffic investigations as well as behaviour based training.

Warren Phillip-Clarke - Senior Instructor (WA)

Warren has worked alongside Mark for a number of years as a trainer. When Warren isn't competing himself he is a key member of the MB Motorsport rally team. Warren has provided training in a variety of fields and has an extensive background in law enforcement and motorsport.

Rod Browning - Senior Instructor (QLD/NSW/VIC)

When Rod isn’t on two wheels performing at a show as part of one of the precision driving teams, he can be found presenting DSA training in both QLD and NSW. Rod has a wealth of experience and knowledge as he has been involved in driver education for many years. He is also a key member of the Bridgestone/Holden and Hyundai Precision Driving teams since 1974 and is now working with Toyota’s Precision driving team.

Dion Morgan - Instructor (QLD)

Dion is originally from Wellington New Zealand. Now living on the Sunshine Coast of QLD he works part time for DSA and the rest of the time can be found working as a Kayak coach/instructor. Dion has won several state titles in Sprint Kayaks and has recently become involved in some motorsport activities.

Amy Butcher- Assistant Instructor and Quality/Procedure/Accounts Manager

Amy is responsible for the upkeep and development of training manuals, procedures and policies. With a strong focus on keeping all training up to date, Amy works with the DSA team to insure that there is always a high level of quality and consistency in the training being provided. Amy also is an instructor on defensive/advanced and 4WD courses. She also navigates for Mark in the DSA rally car in State Championship rallies and recently won the fastest female driver at the Smithton Club Sprint.

Emma Heinrich - Trainee Instructor / Office Assitant (TAS)

Emma has recently returned from the UK and has joined the DSA team as a trainee instructor. Emma has been assisting car clubs with the running of motorsport events and will be co-driving in 2009 for her brother James in a Ford Escort Rally Car. When not working for DSA Emma can be found working for the local veterinarian or behind the bar at Siroccos.

Carlie Wiggins - Office Administration

Carlie works part-time for DSA as an office assistant. Based in Kalgoorlie, she is responsible for taking bookings and general enquiries.
