MB Motorsport, now Driver Skills Australia, commenced operations in 1997 when rally driver Mark Butcher was contracted to assist with the delivery and design of various advanced and defensive driving programs.

Mark's competition driving experience includes 7 World Championship (WRC) rallies, many national championships and club level motorsport events.

Mark combined his experience gained from competition driving with formal qualifications in driver training and workplace training and assessment to become a professional driver trainer.

With the focus on delivering quality driver training services the company has expanded to now more then 10 trainers based around Australia - delivering on average 20-40 courses per month.

DSA have recently opened a head office in Tasmania where all bookings, accounts and training is co-ordinated. This provides one point of call for companies with bases in multiple locations.

DSA have delivered training in many remote locations in Austalia and even overseas.

Wtih extensive driver training, event management and road safety experience, Mark is recognised as one of the leaders in the industry in Australia. Mark is pasionate about saving lives on the road.

Outside of the driving industry, Mark is a Commercial Pilot with many years experience in a variety of aircraft. The high standard and quality of training in the aviation industry has assited Mark when designing courses for drivers.

Driver Skills Australia is  now a national operation with a team of trainers delivering quality training. Although most training includes a skills component, the majority of training provided is designed to develop low risk taking behavior.

Driver Skills Australia is leading the way in advanced, defensive and four wheel drive training for individuals, corporate fleet drivers, government departments and the mining industry in Australia and overseas.

With a selection of standard courses that suit many clients, DSA also specialise in creating courses to suit specific driving conditions, vehicle types or operational requirements. This has included everything from small sedans to school busses and trucks.

Every DSA trainer is passionate about driving and road safety. In addition to formal qualifications, DSA trainers have a variety of experience in motorsport, four wheel driving, law enforcement and/or specialised driving operations. DSA trainers are highly motivated and enjoy assisting drivers in becoming safer and more responsible road users.

DSA is a registered training organisation (RTO). This allows certain course participants to receive nationally recognised qualifications – adding further value and credibility to the training provided. 

DSA has a motorsport division that provides introductory motorsport training and No-Limit events as well as corporate / team building drive  days.
