MB Motorsport, now Driver Skills Australia, commenced operations in 1997 when rally driver Mark Butcher was approached by serveral companies to deliver driver training and professional driving services.

Mark's personal experience includes driving in 7 World Championship (WRC) rallies, many national championships and club level motorsport events. Mark combined this experience with formal qualifications in driver training and workplace training and assessment to become a professional driver trainer. Having worked for many organisations in both Australia and overseas, Mark is well recognised as one of the leaders in this industry in Australia.

Outside of the driving industry, Mark is a Commercial Pilot with many years experience in over 30 aircraft types. The aviation industry maintains very high standard of training and many experiences gained in this environment can be directly related to driving and road safety. This has assisted Mark in developing courses that focus on developing knowledge both in a class room environment and behind the wheel.

Driver Skills Australia is a truly national operation with a team of trainers delivering quality training in a variety of environments. Although most training includes a skills component, the majority of training provided by DSA is designed to develop low risk taking behavior and defensive driving techniques.

Driver Skills Australia is leading the way in advanced, defensive and four wheel drive training for individuals, corporate fleet drivers, government departments and the mining industry in Australia and overseas.

With a selection of standard courses that suit many clients, DSA also specialise in creating courses to suit specific driving conditions, vehicle types or operational requirements. This has included everything from small sedans to school busses and trucks.

Each DSA trainer is passionate about driving and road safety. In addition to formal qualifications, DSA trainers have a variety of experience in motorsport, four wheel driving, law enforcement and/or specialised driving operations. DSA trainers are highly motivated and enjoy assisting drivers in becoming safer and more responsible road users.

It is the trainers that make the difference between DSA and other training organisations.

DSA is a registered training organisation (RTO). This allows certain course participants to receive nationally recognised qualifications – adding further value and credibility to the training provided. 

DSA has a motorsport division that provides introductory motorsport training and No-Limit events as well as corporate / team building drive  days.
